Liz MacDonald brings over 25 years of experience as a trail-blazing executive producer and creative director of music productions, cultural events, and new public media initiatives.
She is a master at creating, designing, marketing, and presenting live performances, recording sessions, and high-profile special events across musical and cultural landscapes. Liz founded and oversaw the KCRW Events Department from 2000 to 2019 -- significantly expanding the station's strategic alliances through collaborations and partnerships, and attracting wide media attention. Today, the Department flourishes, offering the creative community a trusted and beloved platform to showcase the best in music, cultural and news talent. Her work also encompassed the development and expansion of KCRW's live in-person programming in Santa Barbara, and its expansion into the San Francisco Bay Area -- including the creation of KCRW’s Bay Area Sessions.
Liz's talents extend far beyond the field of event production. As a strategic consultant, Liz works with clients to help them innovate, grow, and engage audiences through the development of partnerships and collaborations, event creation, and market expansion, including the development and launch of major new public media projects.
She excels at formulating strategy, project development, overseeing complex operations, and working as a relationship and partnership builder, coach, and guide. She combines passion, an entrepreneurial spirit, and an innovative mindset with the ability to collaborate with and lead a wide range of business and creative partners. She is a born diplomat with a tireless work ethic and unparalleled communication and organizational skills.
When Liz is not working in California, she is an active explorer around the globe, with a lifelong love for cultural exchange, the outdoors, wildlife and environmental conservation.
