ABOUT
I am a seasoned and energetic producer, creator, and leader of new initiatives with over 25 years of media industry experience, specializing in music and cultural organizations. As founder and chief of KCRW’s Live Events department, I pioneered, developed, and grew the station’s now high-profile events division into a trusted and beloved platform to showcase the best in music, culture, and news talent for the Southern California community and beyond. In my role as Executive Producer & Director of New Initiatives, I orchestrated the development and launch of major new station projects, including KCRW’s expansion into Santa Barbara and pilot program in the San Francisco Bay Area. As a consultant, I work with clients to help them innovate, grow, and engage audiences through the development of new initiatives, business and creative partnerships, artistic collaborations, and live event strategies and implementation. I am recognized for my ability to formulate strategy and oversee complex operations, as well as my skills as a producer, relationship builder, leader, and coach. I combine passion, an entrepreneurial spirit, and an innovative mindset with decisive problem-solving and unparalleled diplomatic, communication, and organizational skills.
EXPERIENCE
CLASSICAL CALIFORNIA (2022 – Present)
Consulting producer working with KDFC President and VP of Marketing, Director of Marketing and Brand Partnerships, staff, and senior team to help develop and implement a statewide events strategy for Classical California, the most listened-to network of classical music stations in America. Areas of focus include strategic planning, development and implementation of live event tools and infrastructure, serving as point for talent and partners, team-building, and event execution.
KALW PUBLIC MEDIA (2020 – Present)
Senior advisor and strategist for music and cultural initiatives and member of strategic planning committee. Together with KALW Executive Director, identified market opportunity for, researched, and launched KALW’s Music Mission, which aims to position KALW as a beloved and independent destination for music discovery and a community hub in the Bay Area. Led the search for and selected station’s first-ever Music Director, and worked together to onboard and cultivate a flight of new music programming and on-air talent. Identified and formed partnership with 25th Street Recording in Oakland to establish a new live broadcast and studio home for KALW Music and create the station’s ongoing broadcast operation there. Developed and co-launched KALW Presents, a new marketing and engagement arm of the station. Worked on brand development, helping to craft a new look for the newly-formulated KALW Public Media. I continue to co-lead the Music Mission, as well as spearheading partnership development and artistic collaborations.
