The minute the band hit the stage the energy was evident, as Miguel – channeling a young Michael Jackson with the head bops and fancy footwork – glided from point a, to point b with ease. Songs performed were off his current release Wildheart, in addition to some of his classics including “Sure Thing” and “Adorn”.
Hiatus Kaiyote came blaring into KCRW’s Apogee Studios with fierce energy and artistry packed with a musical punch. The Melbourne band performed songs from their sophomore release Choose Your Weapon, which included an encore performance of their Grammy-nominated single “Nakamarra.”
Silversun Pickups hit the stage at the intimate Apogee Recording Studio for a special showcase for KCRW and its amazing supporters. The L.A. rock band is back with its first new album in more than three years, and started things off just as loud as that effort.
